About

Pace High School
Boys Basketball Booster Club
2015 - 2016

Purpose:  The purpose of this organization is to support the basketball coaches and players as they strive to pursue victory, with honor, on the court and in the classroom.  We will provide leadership, equipment and supplies as needed to support a progressive basketball program for Pace High School.  We will promote continuous character development and academic achievement for the young men who call themselves Patriot Basketball Players.
Benefits:  On an average annual basis, we are able to cover approximately $35,000 in expenses for the basketball program, over and above what the Athletic Dept. provides. The Booster Club makes it possible to purchase many items for our players and provides outstanding opportunities for the players to participate in several camps.

Some examples are as follows:

Membership: The annual membership dues are $50.00 per household.  Membership runs from June 1 through May 31 and is open to anyone who is interested in supporting the Pace High School basketball program.  Each adult in the membership household shall have one vote.    Membership in The Booster Club is the best way to receive information concerning the basketball program.  Information is distributed to the membership via email and group text reminders for important dates and information.  Additionally we have set up a Facebook Page here and will be adding information and pictures.  Please “Like” our Facebook page and feel free to post pictures related to basketball for everyone to enjoy.

Meetings:  Booster club meetings are held once a month, usually on the first Tuesday of the month.  They are held at Pace High School and usually start at 6:30.  They generally last 30 to 45 minutes.  Coach Pippin attends these meetings.  We will confirm specific dates in advance of each meeting.  We encourage your attendance at Boosters meetings, as this is where important decisions that will affect you and your player are made.  Your vote counts and your input is necessary and valuable to the program.

Officers:  The officers are elected by the membership at the May meeting and serve a one (1) year term, June 1 through May 31.  There are four (4) officers in the booster club.  The current officers are:

President – Ryan Jenkins    850-336-7826    [email protected]

Vice President – Eric Price  850-304-1249    [email protected]

Secretary – Lori Lee             850-777-7165    [email protected]

Treasurer – Nica Marshman         850-384-1262    [email protected]

Member and Parent Responsibilities:  The success of The Boosters Club and the basketball program depends on its members and parent participation.  ALL Boosters members and parents are expected to support the program by volunteering and participating in fundraisers.

Some of the opportunities for support are as follows:

Working Concessions/Donations           Chaperoning Dance Fundraiser

Selling Drawdown Tickets                       Collecting Items for Auctions & Gift Bags

Attending Booster Meetings                    Paying necessary fees in timely fashion

Please make it a priority to read all Boosters information.  If email or text is not the best way for you to receive information please talk to the Secretary to arrange for alternative means of communicating with you.

Coaches:  The coaches will communicate predominately through the players and The Boosters Club.  Coaches typically set up a “team text” system to relay important information to the players such as, practice times, game times, open gym, etc.  It is the players responsibility to check and respond to these texts and communicate the info to the parents!  If your player does not communicate via text please have him talk to his Coach regarding alternative means of communication.
